Our 4th Biennial Nantucket Biodiversity Initiative Research Conference

Saturday November 5th

Location: The Coffin School , 4 Winter St, Nantucket MA

 

The goal of the Nantucket Biodiversity Initiative (NBI) research program is to increase knowledge of understudied taxonomic groups and of the overall biodiversity of Nantucket, Tuckernuck, Muskeget and surrounding waters.  The NBI facilitates collaboration, research and data storage and sharing between on and off-island researchers, conservation interests and the general public.

 

This one day conference will feature oral talks and posters covering a range of topics important to biodiversity and conservation on Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and the Cape:

  • Nantucket Harbor Diversity Surveys: Scallops and Community Ecology
  • Spadefoot Toad Restoration
  • Butterflies of Martha's Vineyard
  • Goat Browsing in Coastal Grasslands
  • Conservation Genetics of Spotted Turtles
  • Nantucket Insect Surveys
  • Barrier Beach Plant Community Composition
